career
Each of our students has a distinct career identity (from CEO of a Fortune 500 company to domestic goddess), a different personality, a different work style and a different interpretation of the word “success.”
Whatever your profession or your objectives, WSC focuses on two things: assisting women in their pursuit of their highest career aspirations and ensuring that once there, they are supported in maintaining the momentum.
The WSC Transformation Programme© will teach you to:
- Plan with clarity and execute with precision the career steps that deliver what you want from your career. You'll become highly intentional and know when and how to take action. You'll identify your passions and tactically plan to pursue them.
- Use the art of the deal, to negotiate like a veteran and maneuver like a pro.
- Use strategic self-presentation, impression management and image favorability to achieve the best outcomes in negotiations and professional relationships.
- Develop critical thinking, effective problem solving and decision-making skills so that you precisely and decisively think your way through issues.
- Develop and integrate a framework for effective leadership, so that personal proficiency becomes the ultimate rule of your leadership style.
- Understand the concepts of "power" and "influence" and explore how to use them.
- Use strategies to balance work and a family or personal life.
The Career course units are tailored to meet the individual career objectives of each student and support her desire to lead a brilliant life. You will:
-
Articulate what you want your life to look like at certain ages - 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50+.
-
Assign a priority to finding the partner that suits your career objectives.
-
Decide at what age you should have a child.
-
Learn how to choose a career that you love, that suits you and will give you the gift of time, if you wish to have children.
-
Choose a company that will help you achieve your career, and life, objectives and the required work-life balance.
You’ll acquire behaviours and use skills-based competence in both the broader sphere of worldly achievement and traditional female roles. We celebrate and use the advances women have made in the economic and political spheres and investigate more traditional ideas about the nature and vocation of women.
We also address the harsh reality behind the myth of having it all and discuss the policies that support working women, the prevailing attitudes and significant job pressures that childless and working-mothers face. We discuss the role of women who do not work outside the home and the particular pressures and prejudices they face.
