| Re-engineer Your Life |
| June 15, 2010 |
Never before in the world's history have women had the opportunity to be it all, to lead a life of brilliance, to have everything they want.
But consistently achieveing what you want, let alone living a brilliant life, is hard. The gains women have made since the 60's have not allowed them to relax, in fact, quite the contrary - the gains have only fed the pressure to stand out.
Competition escalates for the limited, if increasing, places women can claim. Women are required to take on the predicaments ofachieving "everything"with the determination of warriors yet the urgings toward self re-invention are oddly countered witha desirefor a return to old-fashioned, womanly femininity.
It's confusing, it's exhausting and, if not managed carefully, can be largely ineffective.
The eclipse of the therapeutic model of human relations and its replacement with a model drawn from business management theory is a signature cultural shift of the moment.
WSC believes that re-engineering a woman’s life is much the same as re-engineering a business - the cultural issues are often more challenging than the technical.
Women walk around with, in corporate parlance, a huge market opportunity. WSC believes that all it takes is the"organisational capability" to take advantage of it.
Most forward-thinking companies agree that developing organisational capability is the most direct line to competitive advantage but competitive advantage does not come by quick fixes, simple programmes or sketchy planning. It involves establishing internal structures and processes that allow companies to realise their strategic goals.
WSC believes that the same holds true for women who want to transform thier lives and achieve their objectives. They need a way to translate elegant aspirations, lofty dreams and long-held desires into an acheivable action plan.
The WSC approach entrenches "organisational capability" in women by focussing on building new skills which, in turn, determines behaviours. These skills and behaviours are tied to a "strategic plan" that details how to live a brilliant life.
Just like re-engineering a business, life transformation involves considerable re-engineering of behaviours, precise planning and implementation. Consistently achieving your objectives is challenging and when WSC starts to fiddle with a student’s behavioural approach we are likely to start touching some raw nerves.
The WSC programme erodes individual boundaries and challenges beliefs. Without a strong, validated approach, integration of new behaviours and skills is problematic.
Spa Camp© soothes raw nerves and manages the numerous cultural and change hurdles our students face almost hourly. The online course uses a definitional support framework that assists the student with the ‘cultural' issues of change within her environment.

The Technique of the Love Affair makes, I am bitterly afraid, considerable sense. If only it had been placed in my hands years ago, maybe I could have been successful instead of just successive." - Dorothy Parker, The New Yorker (1928) |
